The Whitehouse Consultancy has published an article stating that the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has rejected claims that endurance gels benefit athlete performance. Commenting on the article, Dr Adam Carey, Chair of the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance (ESSNA) said that the decision was reached because the evidence submitted was not of the right type, adding that he did not believe this decision will have a negative impact on the industry.
